For those who make comparisons of Kate Middleton to the late Princess Diana, there is now another piece of memorabilia which will help to boost that.
A photo of William and Kate from the official royal wedding program has been released and there's a reason why the image may look mildly familiar. The black and white shot showing the pair dressed in crisp white shirts and big grins might remind some of the equally relaxed black and white 1997 photos of Diana which appeared stateside in Vanity Fair.
That's because the images share the same photographer, Mario Testino, who in 2005 published a book of photos of the late Princess of Wales to coincide with an exhibit of the images held at Kensington Palace.William and Kate look as happy as can be in their Testino photo which was taken at the time of their engagement. The photo is featured in the wedding program along with the order of service for the ceremony, a personal message of thanks from the couple and their individual coat of arms.
Royal watchers will be able to download the program for free at the official royal wedding website or for a small fee for those lucky enough to be at the wedding site.

I have BBC America on my cable line-up – that's what I will tape during the day – tomorrow night Piers Morgan has a 2 hr special on CNN from 7 to 9pm Central time – I'll watch that. I would think that BBC America would be the place to be – though that is not to say that any tv outlet providing feed wouldn't be really terrific to watch. Catherine is very pretty however, she is no Diana and never will be. Diana was someone very, very special – plus Catherine is who she is – Catherine – I am sure she will make an impact on everyone as Diana did, only in her own way. I feel bad for William that he will not have his Mother in attendance.

They are just a precious couple! Note to Mario Testino, though. Kate's head is bigger looking in this photo than William's! How did that happen? Not necessarily a Brit watcher, I am really wishing these two a fulfilling lifetime together. He's a grand person and she looks as though she'll be a wonderful wife and friend.
I noticed that too. But I don't think it's that her head is bigger. It just seems that she is positioned a bit more in front of him, which gives the illusion of her having a bigger head.
I like the concept of the picture – and they are both beautiful people – however I really don't think it is the most flattering picture. The placement of Catherine is all head and really overpowering of Prince William.
There's a published CNN opinion article out there that says Americans could care less about the British Monarchy and the royal wedding. This American is very interested, and very excited! I've "grown up" as it were with Will and Harry being household names. I'm looking forward to how they will change the monarchy and become symbols for compassion, charity and kindness as a whole rather than certain individuals. It would be a good example for the world to follow!

I am happy for the couple and wish them a long and successful marriage. My only complaint is that I think this event is getting way too much over exposure stateside. Send some prayers or positive thoughts to our countrymen/women in the tornado devastated south.
This looks like they took it in one of those photo booths at the mall. If that's the look they wanted, then fine. But for such a formal affair, and a royal one at that, IMHO something a little less casual might have been appropriate for the wedding program. I mean, they're getting married in Westminster Abbey for crying out loud, not some beach in the Caribbean! It just doesn't get any more formal than that! This photo seems more appropriate for another venue/occasion.

One big difference between this wedding and Diana and Charles is that William actually loves Kate. Princess Diana was a true lady through all of the garbage she had to endure. The prince has at least two charities he supports, one an African wildlife refuge which is one of the charities the couple requested donations be sent to in lieu of gifts.
